Statement of Purpose
GROWING STRONGER, Inc. exists for the purpose of strengthening the community through promoting and facilitating growth in the areas of personal development, socioeconomic stability, and civic responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, the following –
Growing Stronger Mentoring/Service Program
This dual action program provides assistance to two groups of women simultaneously. Young at risk women are given vocational training in the fields of horticulture and landscaping. The on the job training is done at the homes of women with physical disabilities who are no longer able to do their own yard work, thus providing free landscape maintenance for them.
Recovery Support Services
Support is provided to individuals recovering from substance abuse addictions in the form of support groups, individual counseling, transportation, and life skills coaching.
The Community Chaplaincy
Pastoral counseling is made available to the police and fire department personnel who encounter individuals and families requesting spiritual help in emergency situations.
Compassionate Aid
Individuals with needs in the areas of food, housing, medical attention, and transportation are given financial assistance on a case by case basis.
Youth Development League
Young at risk individuals are given educational and recreational opportunities to enhance their character development and provide positive alternatives.
